FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does it really work?
Yes! Cellulite is a problem of the skin, and cupping helps in just the ways it needs. The Dimple Eraser method is a holistic approach which targets the layers of your skin which are affected by cellulite. By combining improved lymphatic flow, micro-circulation in the skin, and supporting lifestyle changes, you will notice a change in the firmness and smoothness of the skin's surface, but the actual effects take place below the surface.
The ancient technique of Chinese cupping therapy works on the connective tissues and fascia located under the surface of the skin. The suction created within the glass cup pulls the skin's surface up, and the reverse vacuum pressure encourages circulation of the fluids and softening of the connective fascia tissues that cause the puckering effect that we refer to as "dimpling" or skin cellulite. These adhesions are loosened, and the swollen skin tissue which pushes through these connective tissues becomes firmer with less puffiness due to the increased fluid movement.
Hydration and blood flow are increased, while accumulated debris, excess fluids and toxins are pushed into the circulatory system to be carried away by the body's lymphatic pathways. You will see a sleeker, more contoured effect.

Q: Does it hurt?
No! The treatment feels great. The cupping induces a sedation and relaxation technique, with no pain. Some clients will feel a tingling sensation which may last for hours after the technique, which is just your body feeling the warmth, circulation, and manipulation effects.
Q: Does cupping work on stretch marks and scarring or just cellulite?
While most clients use the cupping massage tool for contouring and cellulite reduction, the cups also work great on scars and stretch marks because the vacuum effect encourages cell rejuvenation and will reduce the appearance of dark spots, scarring, and stretch marks when applied consistently.
Q: How often should I do this treatment?
We recommend an intense treatment of 15-20 minutes once or twice per week. You can also use the cupping tool every day for two to five minutes, either before or after your shower when the skin is moist and warm. Oil or lotion can be applied to help increase the gliding effect, but the tool will also work on dry unoiled skin. While the tool may be used in the shower or underwater in the tub, please be careful not to drop it because the glass could break and cause injury.
Q: Is the cupping tool sold by the Dimple Eraser method the best one to buy?
There is a wide variety of cupping tools available on the market. There are machine vacuum-style cups on the end of suction hoses, and also silicon-based cups where the suction is created by squeezing the actual cup rather than a rubber bulb. There are also glass cups for sale where the suction is created by lighting a candle within the cup, with the suction created by the fire using the air within the cup.
We feel that the glass base and rubber bulb of the cup style sold by the Dimple Eraser is the best suited for cellulite treatment and personal use. The glass base will not absorb oil, skin residue, or odors. The separate pressure bulb allows targeted measured suction. The tool is small, portable, and unlike the machine style will not require batteries, electricity, and has no moving parts to break down.
